John Sidney Andrews papers, 1793-1892.

Letters of the families of Andrews, his wife (born Laura Brant) and his mother (born Dorcas Aldrich). The Aldrich family lived in Ontario County, N.Y. and were Quakers. The Brant family lived in Ohio. The collection includes letters from Andrews to his wife during his Civil War service, chiefly wriiten from locations in Kentucky. Also included are letters to Andrews from other members of Battery F, including Norman S. Andrews (Andrews' brother), William H. Brown, Luther F. Hale, Byron D. Paddock, and George B. Tyler. All of the Civil War letters are dated 1862. Also includes photographs.
